Futurama has been cancelled (again). Comedy Central have announced that the 13 episode series airing in June, will be the last.
The show returned with great success after it’s initial cancellation, by fox in 2003, but it seems that the momentum could to be maintained.
The shows co-creator and executive producer David X. Cohen added
“If this is indeed the end of Futurama, it’s a fantastic finish to a good, long run,”.

Doctor Who star Matt Smith and lead Writer Steven Moffat created their own piece of Doctor Who history today during their first visit to the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff as their hand prints were immortalised in cement,
which will be displayed permanently at the new attraction. Matt Smith is the first Doctor to be immortalised in this way, while the fingers of the show’s Lead Writer will also be set in stone.
The casts were in addition to the unveiling of several new exhibits of the most iconic monsters and props from the recently broadcast series including the dress worn by new companion actress Jenna-Louise Coleman (Oswin’s dress and boots from Asylum of the Daleks), Grayle’s Chained Weeping Angel and The Cherub Angels (The Angels Take Manhattan) and the Robots and costumes of Solomon and Nefertiti (Dinosaurs on a Spaceship).
Matt Smith says, “It’s fantastic that the Doctor Who Experience has been given 
its very own purpose-built home here next to the studios and it feels like a bit of a spiritual home for Doctor Who. It’s been great fun unveiling some of the Doctor’s most fearsome adversaries from Series 7 and with the Christmas special and more episodes next year, there’ll be plenty more props to come down the line”.
On his hand-cast: “I’m honoured to have made my own little piece of Doctor Who history today. It’s a show with so much tradition over nearly 50 years, so to be the first Doctor to take part in something like this is really special”.
Steven Moffat says: “I’m very excited and honoured to have my hands preserved forever. And quite relieved they came back out of the cement! I now know, for all my future crimes, that my fingerprints are readily and permanently available.”
The Doctor Who Experience is the only interactive Doctor Who attraction in the world. It welcomed over 230,000 visitors during a one-year stay at London’s Olympia before moving to Cardiff in July 2012. Since opening in July, over 40,000 fans have passed through the TARDIS doors and taken part in their very own Doctor Who adventure.
After being announced in 2007, Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright have finally started writing t
heir third movie, in the blood and ice cream trilogy, “The World’s End?”.
In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, the dynamic duo expanded a bit on the film’s title and gave a brief plot synopsis.
“20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell-bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realise the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.”
Shaun of the Dead was Pegg and Wright’s homage to horror, Hot Fuzz to action films, The World’s End seems like it could be their homage to sci-fi disaster films. Could we possibly be looking at their answer to an Alien invasion movie?
The pair is scheduled to start shooting in the Autumn and are aiming for a 2013 release. I can’t wait for this movie. I’ll see you at The world’s end.

GH Entertainment, the animation development and production unit of Rubicon Group Holding (RGH), announced today that Postman Pat® will be making his big-screen debut in Postman Pat: The Movie, which will be released in CG 3-D Stereoscopic in cinemas across the UK on Friday, 24th May 2013.
The film finds Pat, everyone’s favourite postman, coming face-to-face with the temptations of money, status and a shiny new suit when he enters a national TV talent show that threatens to tear him away from his hometown of Greendale and the friends he loves. What happens when kindness meets selfishness? When local fame meets global notoriety? A nice cup of tea is kicked aside by a frappacappucino? Pat is set to find out as he falls for the age-old temptation of the grass being greener…
The renowned voice cast is led by actor Stephen Mangan (Episodes, Green Wing, Dirk Gently) as Postman Pat. Academy Award® and BAFTA® Award Winner Jim Broadbent (Iris, Moulin Rouge!), Rupert Grint, who achieved international fame as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, and David Tennant (Doctor Who, Harry Potter) will join Stephen in bringing the world of Postman Pat to life on the big screen.
Postman Pat: The Movie is currently in production, directed by Mike Disa (Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil) from a screenplay co-written by the award-winning Kim Fuller (Spice World, High Heels & Low Lifes) and Annika Bluhm, the long-time Producer of the Postman Pat television series. The film is being produced by RGH’s Robert Anich and Miles Horst and Classic Media’s Ceri Barnes and Annika Bluhm, with RGH Entertainment’s Randa Ayoubi and David Corbett and Classic Media’s Eric Ellenbogen and Doug Schwalbe serving as executive producers.
Sonar Entertainment has announced that they are developing “Hellraiser: The Series”.

I’m a little sceptical about how great this series could be on a US network. Blade was hardly a terrifying horror, but that was defanged for tv.

The Barbican has announced their exhibition to mark the 50th anniversary of James Bond, from 1962’s Dr No to this year’s Skyfall, with a unique exhibition showcasing the inside story of the design and style of the world’s most influential and iconic movie brand.
In collaboration with EON Productions and with unprecedented access to their archives, Designing 007 will be a multi-sensory experience, immersing audiences in the creation and development of Bond style over its auspicious 50-year history.
It will explore the craft behind the screen icons, the secret service and villains, tailoring and costumes, set and production design, automobiles, gadgets and special effects, graphic design and motion graphics, exotic locations, stunts and props.
Highlights include gadgets and weapons made for Bond and his notorious adversaries by special effects experts John Stears, Syd Cain and Chris Corbould, along with artwork for sets and storyboards by production designers Sir Ken Adam and Peter Lamont, and costume designs by Bumble Dawson, Donfeld, Julie Harris, Lindy Hemming, Ronald Patterson, Emma Porteous, and Jany Temime.
On display too will be lavish screen finery by Hollywood costume designers and major fashion names including Giorgio Armani, Brioni, Roberto Cavalli, Tom Ford, Hubert de Givenchy, Gucci’s Frida Giannini, Douglas Hayward, Rifat Ozbek, Jenny Packham, Miuccia Prada, Oscar de la Renta, Anthony Sinclair, Philip Treacy, Emanuel Ungaro and Donatella Versace.
The exhibition is designed by Ab Rogers and curated by the Barbican, with guest-curation by fashion historian Bronwyn Cosgrave and Oscar®-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming.
