Rumour X-Men/Fantataic Four crossover due in 2018.

The very reliable Latino-Review are reporting the X-Men may team up with The Fantastic Four in a cross-over in 2018.
But before that can happen, the Fantastic Four reboot and its sequel (due in 2017) have to make a huge amount at the box office. X-Men: Apocalypse also needs to make a respectable amount, which is a safe bet when you look how well Days of Future Past did.
So a lot of things need to align before that can happen, but given that every single studio wants an Avengers, I would say 2018 is looking pretty good for a crossover.

The possibility alone has me excited.

Jon Bernthal cast as The Punisher

Rumors have been circulating for a while now, about The Punisher joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. More recently we heard that Frank Castle would appear in Daredevil, and now it’s been confirmed! Marvel announced yesterday that they’ve cast The Walking Dead star Jon Bernthal in the role for series 2.
Personally, I’ve enjoyed the three previous Punisher movies (yes, even the one with Dolph).

I think Bernthal is a great choice.

Marvel said:

“Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power, motivation and vulnerability that will connect with audiences. Castle’s appearance will bring dramatic changes to the world of Matt Murdock and nothing will be the same.”

I’ve binged the entire first series twice now and I can’t wait for series 2.

Dean Cain to voice Jonathan Kent

Former Man of Steel, Dean Cain whom older readers may remember from four series of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
Since hanging up his cape, Cain has appeared in a few episodes of Smallville and is about to be seen in Supergirl playing Kara’s adoptive father. On top of that, he’ll also be voicing Jonathan Kent for DC’s Super Hero Girls.

He broke the news at a recent comic convention.
“I’m actually currently voicing Jonathan Kent, now I’m the dad. It’s called DC Girls, it’s an animated special. I don’t know if it’s going to series yet or not.”

DC Super Hero Girls was announced earlier this year and is targeted towards girls from the age of 6-12, across digital content, television specials, direct-to-DVD features.

Eddie Redmayne confirmed for Harry Potter spin-off

Rumours have been rife for months about the casting of the first Harry Potter spin-off, at one point Matt Smith was said to have been cast in the lead role. But, today Warner Bros. has made it official: Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne will play Newt Scamander in Fantastic beasts and where to find them.

The film will mark Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling debut as a screenwriter.
Newt is the world’s preeminent magizoologist and author of a book about the creatures of the wizarding world that all pupils at Hogwarts are required to read. The film is set 70-years before we first meet Harry and is set in New York City. David Yates, whom direct the last four instalments in the Harry Potter franchise is returning to direct.
David Yates said:
“Eddie is a fearless actor, brimming with invention, wit and humanity. I couldn’t be more excited about the prospect of working with him as we start this new adventure in J.K. Rowling’s wonderful world, and I know she feels the same way.”
I’ve only seen three Harry Potter movies and I don’t know which three, so I’m unfamiliar with Newt Scamander, but Redmayne is a bright and talented actor and I’m sure he will excel in the role. I’m glad that they’re universe building here, it would have been all too easy to make a spin-off about Harry’s parents or one of his Hogwarts friends.

The film is expected for worldwide release on November 18th, 2016.
