Red Dwarf series 11 confirmed

Series 9 of Red Dwarf fell pretty flat. It was the difficult reunion album from a band that haven’t played together in over a decade. Series 10 however went back to the shows roots and kept the stories simple and the end result was the best series of Red Dwarf in a long while.

Dave have just confirmed Series 11 and I couldn’t be happier.

The announcement was made by Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn, Danny John-Jules and Craig Charles at a recent sci-fi convention.
They also confirmed that filming is scheduled to begin in October 2014, which means that we won’t see the series until 2015 at the earliest.

It’s a long wait, but I’m happy to hear that we’ll be catching up with the mining ship crew again

Star Wars news

20140318-234611.jpg

After nearly two years of speculation we have finally been teased with a little info about the highly anticipated Star Wars Episode VII.
The film will be set 30-years after the events in return of the Jedi and will focus on a new trio of heroes, with some yet unconfirmed cameos from the original stars.
Lucasfilm also confirmed today that filming will begin in London, in May.
I am ridiculously excited about this film, I grew up on Star Wars and I can’t wait to take my kids to their first official Star Wars experience. May the force be with all of us.

New Thunderbirds

It was announced today that ITV are making a new version of everybody’s20130204-123418.jpg favourite kids tv show, Thunderbirds. The new series will be a co-production with Peter Jackson’s Weta Workshop. It has already received a 26-episode order, which is unheard of on British tv. It will be a CGI series, instead of the old school supermarionation.
Our good friends, nights at the round table recently discussed Thunderbirds in their two part tribute to Gerry Anderson. Listen to part 1 here and part 2 here.
