By now, you would have all heard that the X-Files is coming back. But hey-ho, you can read all the information here again.
The new six-part series will go in to production this summer. Creator Chris Carter and Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are all returning.
“I think of it as a 13-year commercial breakz The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.”
Rumblings of a new series have been doing the rounds since Anderson appeared on the Nerdist podcast last year. FOX officially announced the news today.
It’s thought that they will be six standalone episodes, with a small arc piecing them together.
“We had the privilege of working with Chris on all nine seasons of The X-Files—one of the most rewarding creative experiences of our careers—and we couldn’t be more excited to explore that incredible world with him again. The X-Files was not only a seminal show for both the studio and the network, it was a worldwide phenomenon that shaped pop culture – yet remained a true gem for the legions of fans who embraced it from the beginning. Few shows on television have drawn such dedicated fans as The X-Files, and we’re ecstatic to give them the next thrilling chapter of Mulder and Scully they’ve been waiting for.”
Starting in September of 1993, the show ran until 2002, with nine series and 202 episodes. It also begat two films, an unsuccessful spin-off and, a line of comics.
More news as we get it.
