Gambit removed from 2016 schedule

Deadpool is currently shattering box office records, it’s made over $600 Million worldwide. Fox also have X-Men: Apocalypse out this summer. However they were due to have three Marvel titles out this year, with Channing Tatum-starring as the Gajun superhero, Gambit.

Gambit was originally scheduled to be released in October this year. But the production has entered a sort of “development hell” phase. The original director Rupert Wyatt walked away last September, which caused a delay in production. In January, it was reported that production would begin in March, with Live die repeat’s Doug Liman now directing.  Alien: Covenant will now move into Gambit’s original slot.

Personally, I can’t see this movie ever happening. Fox were seeking someone with a big draw to step into Hugh Jackman’s place. They now have Deadpool and, ryan Reynolds.

Fox also revealed the release dates for two unnamed Marvel projects, October 6, 2017 and January 12, 2018. I suspect the 2018 date will be Deadpool 2.
