We’ve known for a while that Disney also obtained the rights to Indiana Jones when they bought the rights to Star Wars. With rumours of reboots and Chris Pratt being cast as the man in the hat, it was only a matter of time before a new movie was announced. Today, in an interview with Vanity Fair Kathleen Kennedy (Lucasfilm president) confirmed that a new movie is on the horizon.
“In buying the company, Disney also got rights, for better or worse, to less-storied Lucasfilm properties, among them Willow and Radioland Murders. A bigger prize is the Indiana Jones franchise. Kennedy confirmed rumours that another Indy movie ‘will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.’”
I’ve been expecting this news since Disney bought Lucasfilm. I’m excited at the prospect of a reboot. I’m also exited about the possibility of a new Willow movie.
